The Pennsylvania School-Age Professional Credential (SAPC) is administered by the Pennsylvania Key and is provided by the six regional school-age projects across Pennsylvania. This year the Southeastern Pennsylvania School Age Child Care Project will be providing two offerings of the credential coursework, training sessions for SAPC Advisors and additional supports to SAPC candidates. The SAPC has been developed to promote quality services for children and families by providing specific standards, professional development and evaluation of school-age practitioners.
The SAPC is modeled after the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Candidates participating in the SAPC process must:
- Meet eligibility requirements
- Complete the 120 hours of coursework addressing the 13 Functional Areas
- Complete a Portfolio and Resource File
- Collect observations of their work from their Advisor, Assessor and Parent/Community Representative and Family Questionnaires
Once the requirements are met the SAPC candidate will be awarded the School-Age Professional Credential. The SAPC is recognized in the Keystone STARS Continuous Quality Improvement System as meeting Level III on the Career Lattice.
